Microfluidics has several applications identified so far and a lot more to be identified.  Microfluidics has practical applications to the design of systems in which such small volumes of fluids will be used.  Some applications are inkjet printheads, lab on a chip technology, micro heat exchangers (microHX) and micro reactors.
